2004-06…Manifest as Tension marks Shaeffer’s first foray into a more narrative approach towards sculpture. This series follows psychological tension, an inherent part of the human condition,as it makes the transition from the sub-conscious to the conscious mind. Shaeffer then translates this psychological tension into a sculptural language through the use of material, space and form.
